John Ward is pleased to have been re-selected to fight again to be the local County Councillor in Sprowston. Married to Rita, they have one son and one daughter - and a chocolate labrador called Hugo!
John, 65, is retired fron Retail Management but currently doing some paid retail management work for well known charity Oxfam.
John is a member of the Norwich Society, a Friend of Roasary Cemetery and member of the Titanic Society! He is also an Elder of the United Reformed Church (Princes St., Norwich)
In addition to his work as a County Councillor, John does voluntary work for Christian Aid, Oxfam, British Legion and The Magdalene Group. John is also a School Governor at Cecil Gowing, Sprowston and a National Trust member.
On being chosen again, John said:
"I have been a Conservative since the day I was born, my father was a Conservative Borough and Town Councillor in Hertfordshire.
I an a County Councillor, Chairman and Mayor of Thorpe St. Andrew Town Council. Chairman of the Norfolk Joint Museums and Archaeologhy Committee, I am on the Joint Advisory Committee of The Fringe Project and I am on the Advisory Board of Sprowston & Spixworth Surestart Centres."
"I would be pleased to carry on working hard for Sprowston after May."
